Mechanics in this game can get complicated, so here's most of the important ones compiled to help you on your travels.
The Mechanics
Item Limit - There's a limit of holding 5 items at once. Upon reaching the limit and trying to grab another, it will notify you with a message saying that you need to discard an item. This forces you to be careful with your choices of weaponry and tools. This can be bypassed using commands.

The weapon status meter.
Durability - Each weapon in the game has a set durability, and upon reaching 0 they will break. Durability is represented by the Green Bar shown while holding items. A notable Durability gimmick is on the Scythe, as you lose durability from people attempting to grab you. With admin commands, this can be set to high or low.
Infecting - Attack and Grab, along with Puddles, lower your health. However, upon reaching 5 or less health from any will Transmorgify you. You can also be infected using the :tf command. (needs to have the gootrax in the Bestiary)
Stun - Certain items like the Bat or Kaiju Basher, along with most melee weapons will Stun any infected struck with them. Upon being stunned, their speed is temporarily set to 0. If a weapon that Stuns is used while an infected is already stunned, it will not affect them.
Ragdoll - Some items such as the Brick, will ragdoll any infected that gets hit by it. There is a slight delay where the ragdolled infected is vulnerable to attacks. Akin to durability and infecting, there is also a respective command to ragdoll a player. Note that there is a slight damage reduction while being ragdolled.
Cooldown - Every item in the game has a cooldown between when you can and can't use it. Consumables normally either have a longer cooldown (such as the bloxy cola), and some have a much shorter one (most food items). Weapons can vary from short, medium (or average), and long. Examples of shorter cooldown items would be the knife, and brick. Medium would be most weapons in the game such as bats, machetes, Kaiju Bashers and more. larger weapons would be scythes. This cooldown rule also applies to the Gootraxians, which would include their Grab, Attack, Claw and more.
