The Panther was a Raytraxian only available during the Blackout event, and could be obtained by repeatedly stepping into the large white crystal nests outside of spawn. Panther’s replacement is named Hebi.
Appearance
The Panther is a mostly black Raytrax that has a grey pattern located on It torso that resembles a four-pointed star. He has large claws on It arms. During a blackout, It eyes normally glow yellow (when low hp, glow red) that leave a trail. He sports a big fluffy tail, along with strikingly large ears. It dark colors seem to blend in with the blackout environment making it easier to hide from humans, and could be to ambush enemies.

Panther is a sleek, black-furred feline gootraxian that is incredibly vicious and feral in nature. He has long, hooked claws adept at scaling the uneven cave environment he dwell in and seizing prey. He is incredibly lightfooted and agile, and is capable of fast quadrupedal (four-legged) movement.
When enraged or under intense stress and the effects of adrenaline, specialized vessels around It eyes fill with blood which causes them to glow an intense red instead of yellow. During this state, It fur will stand on end, especially along It tail, and becomes stiff and quill like. He is especially active under low light and is capable of detecting and tracking down other presences that may hunt in these conditions. However It ability to do so under bright light is hindered.
The facility may sometimes experience low power outages or in some cases complete blackouts. During complete blackouts, the crystals dotted around the cave outside of the main facility turn white and emit strange particles of the same color. Panther sightings during these periods are especially frequent and It aggression appears to be heighted. It is NOT recommended to engage.
Current Bestiary Description
Dubbed the balance-keeper of the cave, Panther is a wild, feral Gootraxian that prowl the facility during blackouts, using It long, hooked claws and keen senses to stalk the caves he dwell in and seize any unfortunate prey he may find. this Gootraxian is incredibly agile, having developed uniquely long limbs to move unhindered quadrupedally and bipedally. When enraged, specialized circulatory vessels around It eyes fill with blood, causing him to glow red, and the fur on It tail puffs out and becomes sharp and quill-like. While quite rare to see in person, Panther may sometimes hunt Slime Pups for sustenance.
Keep an eye on the crystals in the cave when blackouts occur.
Abilities
Attack
Does a decent amount of damage to a foe.
Grab
Grabs the enemy. Does more damage the longer the grab is active. The grab can be negated by somebody attacking the grabber, or the victim breaking out of the cute by rapidly clicking the highlighted button(s) enough times (PC), rapidly tapping the screen enough times (Mobile), or spamming LT and RT (Xbox)
Claw
Deals 10 base damage and caps out at 20. Unlike the Grab or Attack tools, if this finishes off a survivor, it kills them instead of infecting them.
Prepare
The Panther crouches down, and a yellow outline of all humans are shown in It local vision for a total of 4 seconds. Works during both the Blackout and Power Outage event. this does not work when the lights are on, however, and attempting to do so will result in a message popping up that says "It's too bright..."
Rage (Passive)
When the Panther is damaged to 50% HP or less, It eyes will turn red with anger, and the glowing trail produced by It eyes during a blackout will change to a similar color.
Scythe Block (Passive)
Panther will block scythes with minimal damage (around 1/10 of their health), along with being slowed down for a moment.
Increased HP (Passive)
The Panther has an increased amount of health compared to other Gootraxians, having a total of 130 HP instead of the usual 100.
Trivia
- He is a community creation, designed and modeled by Mysticalesta, who is also the creator of Carneline.
- And stated by the creator themselves that the Panther's design is inspired by the Nargacuga from Monster Hunter.
- The Panther is one of the few Raytraxians that can outright kill a survivor instead of infecting them The others being Slime Pup, Slime Dragon, Nightcrawler and Buck.
- The Panther has a unique grab animation where he holds It victim above the ground with his feet, somewhat choking the victim. he shares this animation with the Kawaii Shork. (Animation deleted in v3.2 Hallows Eve update)
- However, this animation makes the victim immune to ground hazards like puddles and dragon spikes.
- Surprisingly, many players mistake him as a wolf, much more in the bestiary update of 3.1.
- They are one of the few Raytraxians to appear on a thumbnail with their respective update, along with Carneline and the Nightcrawler.
- The Panther has the second most abilities with a total of four, beaten only by the Slime Pup, who has five,
- According to the Bestiary, the Panther is capable of quadrupedal movement, though he seems to prefer bipedal.
- If any Slime Pup attempted to ride Panther, he would grab the pup, and slam them into the ground, dealing damage to the pup and sounding one of many sound effects (a vine boom, the taco bell "bong", squeak etc...). Panther, as of current, were the only Gootraxians that had this ability.
- The Panther has a chance to drop a weapon known as the Panther Bombarder.
- He can be blinded by a flashlight or the eyes of a Chocolate Sprinklekit in Blackout.
