Witchbrew

For The Drink, Witchbrew (Drink).

Witchbrew is a bat-like Raytraxian obtained by drinking its namesake cola, Witchbrew. It was released in the Hallows Eve update on October 30, 2022.

It's the replacement of the Trystan transfur.

Description

A Raytraxian with bat-like attributes, Witchbrews have been observed to be wreaking havoc across the LAMINAX facilities. Their playful and mischievous behavior prompts them to socialize with other raytraxians, despite their widely shunned presence.

The Witchbrew was created entirely on accident! A developing raytraxian had contaminated an ordinary can of Witchbrew soda, mutating the sugary drink with unusual and undocumented properties; one of which being transforming the victim into the Witchbrew Raytraxian.

For future reference, do not drink any peculiar looking soda from vending machines.

Appearance

Current: Witchbrew is a dark purple bat with a barely lighter-purple underbelly. They have a variety of colorful shapes on their cheeks and legs, green eyes with yellow irises and purple pupils, and bright purple diamonds on their forehead and back. Their bat-like features include large ears, wings, snout, fangs, and claws, all lime-green in color. Their tail, however, is unlike most bats, being short and fluffy rather than long and rat-like.

Pre-v3.1.1: Witchbrew is a dark brown bat with purple, lime and yellow dots scattered on the arms, thighs, back, wings and tail, it has lime freckles underneath its eyes. It's mouth, claws, and the inside of its wings/ears are all lime colored, however, its paw pads are purple. The tip of its ears, eyebrows, the bottom part of the stubby tail and feet have a dark brown gradient while the inside of the paws are lighter. Its sclerae are lime with yellow irises and purple slit pupils. The toe beans are also a lime themed color

Abilities

Attack

Does a decent amount of damage to a foe.

Grab

Grabs the enemy. Does more damage the longer the grab is active. The grab can be negated by somebody attacking you, or the victim breaking out of the grab by rapidly clicking the highlighted button(s) enough times.

Double Jump

In the middle of a jump, Witchbrew is able to jump a second time to gain extra height. This second jump spawns many large and colorful particles that take the shape of circles, triangles, and X's. This double jump also has a cooldown, however, and also cannot be done more than once per jump.

Scythe Defense (Passive)

Takes slightly decreased damage from scythes. Does not negate stun or knockback.

Trivia

Before the v3.3.1 update, Witchbrew was one of the two Raytraxians capable of flying, along with the now removed Slime Pup Dragon.
This also makes it so they do not make any noise with footsteps. Flying could be temporarily canceled by using any emote, similar to the Slime Pup and Slime Pup Dragon.
Witchbrew was an extremely unique Raytraxian on release, also being the only one with a unique grab/attack animation and one of the first with a blinking animation.
Their hitbox was very forgiving as well, meaning they could attack other players and dodge attacks easier than other Raytraxians.
- That, however, was updated pre-redesign in a balancing update.
  - They now walk on the ground like all other Raytraxians, and do not fly in any of their given animations. This includes their double jump.
There was a bug on its day of debut that it's wings had collisions enabled, meaning you could get stuck on walls with them.
- According to the devs this was fixed a few days later, and collisions were disabled.\
As of 3.3.1, Witchbrew is the smallest Raytraxian
- The height difference is that Witchbrew is at height 0.7 while a human is at 1.0
